Popups
The Popups section in the theme allows store owners to display attention-grabbing messages on their storefront to increase engagement, build urgency, or promote special offers.
The Popups section in the theme provides tools to display promotional or activity-based messages on your storefront. These popups are designed to attract attention, encourage conversions, and communicate special offers or simulated sales activity. There are two types of popups available: the Fake Sales Popup, which builds social proof through automated notifications, and the Promotion Popup, which presents marketing messages, newsletter forms, or discount announcements. Both popup types share similar timing and appearance settings and are fully integrated with the theme’s design system.
Fake Sales Popup
The Fake Sales Popup simulates real-time purchases by displaying small notifications with sample text such as “Someone just bought this item.” Its goal is to increase customer confidence and urgency through the illusion of store activity.
You can enable or disable this feature entirely. Once active, you can configure when the first popup appears, how long it remains visible, and the interval between subsequent notifications. The products shown can be randomly selected from the entire catalog or limited to a specific collection for more targeted marketing. To make the popup feel authentic, random city names and time indicators such as “5 minutes ago” can be generated automatically.
The message content can be customized with dynamic placeholders for product, city, and time, while the product image can also be displayed to make the notification visually appealing. The popup can be positioned anywhere on the screen, typically in the bottom left or bottom right corner, and optionally hidden on mobile devices for a cleaner browsing experience. Styling options include background, text, and accent color controls, rounded corners, shadows, and the option to display a close icon for manual dismissal.
Promotion Popup
The Promotion Popup is intended for marketing content such as discounts, announcements, or email subscription offers. It can appear automatically on page load or after a specified delay. The popup layout is flexible and may include an image alongside text or display full-width promotional content. You can select where it appears — for instance, only on the homepage or across all pages — and how often returning visitors will see it, such as once per session or once per day.
The content area allows you to add a heading, description, image, and a button that can link to any page or collection. Button text and links are fully customizable. A newsletter form can also be displayed to collect subscribers, along with a success message that confirms when the form is submitted successfully.
Additional appearance settings allow you to control animation effects like fade, slide, or zoom, and enable or disable an overlay background behind the popup. Overlay opacity can be adjusted to control how much the page content is dimmed while the popup is visible. You can also customize background, text, and button colors, as well as borders, corner radius, and shadows for visual consistency. The popup is responsive and automatically adjusts its layout for desktop and mobile devices.
Usage Notes
Both popup types are designed to improve customer engagement without requiring any code modifications. The Fake Sales Popup focuses on creating urgency and trust through simulated purchase activity, while the Promotion Popup highlights real offers or collects marketing leads. Adjusting timing, frequency, and display behavior ensures the popups remain effective without overwhelming visitors. For stores collecting emails, ensure all promotional or newsletter popups comply with applicable privacy and consent regulations.
