The Blog Posts section under the Shopify Blogs page displays a selected group of articles from your store’s blog. It allows merchants to highlight recent or specific posts.

Blog Posts - Options Overview
Option
Explanation
Blog
Select which blog source to display posts from (e.g., News, Journal, Stories).
Layout
Defines the overall layout style for how posts are displayed on the page.
Top spacing: None / Small / Medium / Normal
Controls the vertical space above the section to adjust its placement within the page.
Width: Default / Boxed / Wide
Sets the content width. “Wide” expands the layout for large screens (1440px and above).
Number of columns: 1–6
Determines how many columns of blog posts are shown per row.
Heading alignment: Left / Center
Sets the text alignment for the section heading.
Sidebar: None / Left / Right
Adds a sidebar to the section; can contain additional blocks such as categories or tags.
Image hover effect: Basic theme settings / Disable / Zoom in #1 / Zoom in and rotate / Zoom in #2 / Zoom out #1 / Zoom out #2 / Slide / Shine
Defines how the post image reacts when hovered over for an interactive visual effect.
Blog posts
Specifies the posts to display, either automatically or manually selected.
Image ratio: Auto / Portrait (3:4) / Landscape (4:3) / Square (1:1) / Social story (9:16) / Widescreen (16:9)
Adjusts the aspect ratio of post images for consistent visual presentation.
Alignment: Left / Center
Sets alignment for post text and images within each item.
Heading size: Large / Medium / Small
Controls the font size of the post titles.
Show featured image
Displays the main image of each post as a visual preview.
Truncate post heading
Shortens long titles to maintain a clean and balanced layout.
Underline on hover
Adds an underline animation when the post title is hovered.
Show tags
Displays the tags associated with each blog post.
Show date
Shows the publication date of each post.
Show author
Displays the author’s name below the post title or excerpt.
Show button
Adds a “Read more” or similar button linking to the full article.
Show comment count
Displays the number of comments on each post, if enabled.
Excerpt: show / hide / show truncated content
Controls visibility of the short description (excerpt) below each title; can be shown fully, hidden, or shortened.
